Learn about antiques & entertaining

New Yorker MagazineMost people we have come to know through the years have one thing in common no matter what the treasure is or from what period the treasures come from- most of us find collecting antiques FUN.  The thrill of the hunt, the great people we meet along the way, and of course enjoying that moment when you have found your treasure; these are the best reasons for collecting.

But- to get the most from your collection, you must have knowledge.  Knowledge is power for the collector.  It is important to understand when, why, where and how an item was made; to see the item in relation to the period in which it was made, and how it was a part of the surroundings of the time.

We are devoting this page to sharing knowledge about antiques and entertaining; living with and using these treasures we collect and cherish.
